This weeks social networking minute will cover the basics of setting up a Twitter account. I had to set up a Twitter account for a new website I am creating. The site, StartGap.Com, is up, but there is no content on the site at the current moment. Feel free to stare at the blank page, if you wish? In the meantime, the new twitter account is http://www.twitter.com/thestartupgap.
Now that we have that fun business out of the way, let’s discuss Twitter for a second. While most companies have a number of their social media accounts, I find that Twitter often gets left behind. For some reason people are afraid of using Twitter, because they feel that it is not a useful social network.
I have heard reasoned from many a business owner, it is only 140 characters! My answer to that is yeah, but they are a powerful 140 characters when tweeted properly.
Social Networking Minute: Setting Up A Twitter Account
Notes from Setting Up A Twitter Account
As you noticed, the basic account can be set up in one minute, however, the extraneous stuff like doing the first five connections, verifying the email, and setting up the profile might take a few minutes longer. However, considering the fact that you only have to do this once, setting up an will maybe take 10-15 minutes total. After that you are free to start tweeting on a regular basis.
To create great tweets check out How To Tweet In Peaceful Serenity. This post leaves off after the basic set up is complete. Of course, if you need more in-depth training you can always check out our free videos on eMarketing Experience.
Which reminds me! Make sure you get the new copy of my book on Amazon, eMarketing Experience. Turn your old fashioned marketing into new online profits with this quick, yet effective guide to online marketing. This book is not a get rich quick scheme. Instead, it is a blueprint to help you build the relationships you need to develop your business online.
It would be nice to see your new website StartGap.Com that will give me an opportunity to learn something.
Bella,
Thanks! The site is slowly, but surely coming together. However, it is live if you want to go to: http://startupgap.com. Tell me what you think, but be kind, since this is not ready for prime time.
