Having an amazing SEO link building strategy can make your website’s traffic grow. The ability to connect with large numbers of quality websites and with lots of back links is crucial to having a great SEO strategy. Link Building is as much an art as a science, so today I want to provide a few resources to help you more effectively use SEO to build your business.

First, you need to make sure that you find links related to your business. Second, link building is about two items: quality and quantity. It is in that order. Without quality links there is no point to getting huge quantities of links. The reason is that most search engines do not care about your junk links. What they care about are quality links that you have going back to your website. In order to do that you definitely want some .edu and .gov links to be sending your traffic.

A quick google search of .edu and .gov blogs will help you find a wide variety them for you to comment on. The one challenge with Government and Education blogs is that a lot of them do not allow comments from outsiders. That means you will have to check out a number of sites before you can find the right blog for you to link build. It will take time, and is possible.

Third, the great thing about getting links is that there are a number of free tools to help you link more effectively. Here are three of my favorite:

  1. Cherry Picker- This free download helps you find what niches are easy for the picking. You can see what the competition looks like when you type in different keywords. Also, you can find out who the competition is and start posting blog comments with your link their as well. Why not hang off their coat tails?
  2. Comment Kahuna- Another free download. This one, however, allows you to create profiles for your blog comments and you can go through different blogs with the a few clicks and start sending out comments. It is ideal when you want to comment on 4-5 blogs in a day. Reminds me of the blog version of Social Marker.
  3. OnlyWire – Great tool for social media syndication and content aggregation. Check out my blog post on this topic.
