This might be a little bit of old news, but I thought this video by Foursquare talking about their 1 Billion check-ins on the site was kind of cool! So, I made an executive blogging decision that I would share their video on this blog. The Foursquare video below is just cool and I needed to share it. Deal with it!
A Week of Check-ins on the Path to One Billion from foursquare on Vimeo.
It is amazing how many check-ins happen in a week on Foursquare these days. When I first started looking at Foursquare about 18 months ago there were about 4 million people on the site and very little activity in the Chicagoland area. That is probably why I never truly got as into Foursquare as other social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Youtube.
But with the rise of mobile marketing, Foursquare is going to take a front seat in how we do social along with Facebook Places. It will be interesting to see how everything turns out in the next few years for Foursquare.
This is a good news.. Keep up your good record of hits!
Thanks! Why is that good news for you?
Andy,
This is great news for Foursquare!
While we’re talking Foursquare, I’d like to take the time to say that I don’t think enough businesses are utilizing Foursquare at all or correctly. There’s so much potential for platforms like this, these businesses are missing out man!
I had to get that out!
Thanks!
Means mobiLe is going mainstream.
