Learning the basics used to oh so hard until Facebook 101 for business came around. In the first social network that we are covering this week in Social Networking 101 week, we will talk about Facebook 101 for business. How to use Facebook to build your business, and set up your account on Facebook to provide the correct structure to build a successful network.
Today will cover how to set up an account, profile building, privacy settings, and also building your core network.
Facebook 101 For Business
Facebook 101 For Business Review
First, as we discussed in the video, setting up your Facebook account is very simple. The biggest thing to remember is to make sure to use your phone number after you set up your account in order to make your time on Facebook easier.
Second, setting up a profile is simply about talking about who you are, what you want, and where you have been.
Third, just because you set up a profile for your closest 750 million friends does not mean you want everyone to know your business. That is why you need to set up the privacy settings correctly.
Fourth, and lastly, what do you do with Facebook now that you have it set up? Well, so you start building your network.
Tomorrow we will be covering Twitter 101, as we delve into how to use this network to build your business as well. In the meantime, please let me know what you learned about from Facebook 101 for business
Great post, it really encapsulates the power of facebook and the importance of having a public and personal face to your business.
Thanks for putting this .
Jeffrey,
Glad I can help you with the personal and public par t of Facebook for your business.
Andy
I really appreciate this – I wouldn’t know how to set up a business facebook and honestly probably would have just done it *exactly* like my personal one, which I’ve learned from this video isn’t necessarily a good idea, especially with the part about the different privacy settings and what not to show to the public. Thanks, Professor Andy!! 🙂

Laurie,
I like that Professor Andy!
Glad you also got some great value from the differences between a personal page that you use for yourself and one for business.
Andy
Andy,
I use Facebook daily. I have both a personal and business page. It’s great for connecting with and engaging other but lately I’ve been spending more time on Google +. I must say that I’m liking it a lot more than Facebook.
Dewane,
Google+ is great, but it is still not as dynamic of a network yet.
Andy
It’s surprising how many people still don’t know how to use Facebook properly, for business. Going back to the basics will be a big help.
Willena Flewelling
Willena,
Glad to help you with the Facebook basics.
Andy
Great tutorial. I have to admit that I already knew all of it but it is always a great reminder/refreasher.
Thanks! Glad to help!
Hi, Andy, I am Marty Perlow’s wife. Just in case you do not remember who I am. I have to go through my facebook and set up again for my http://www.hopechestjewelry.com page. I remember that you did a lot of topics on facebook so I am here. Trying to read them and video tutorials are a big plus. Thank you.
Just wondering, are you going to write about Pinterest at any point?
Opal,
I did a Pinterest video tutorial on my blog already. If you go to Youtube, search for my channel at smartatthestart1. It is either the first or second featured video.
