All In One SEO Pack Guide
Here is a review of how the various sections of the plugin work:
Plugin Status: Is the plugin enabled or disabled.
Home Title: The title should contain your site dominant keyword.
Home Description: The description is how Google describes your site on their network.
Home Keywords: What are the main keywords for your home page? Limit this to 10-20 keywords.
Canonical URLs: This let’s Google know which url is the best for a site home page, so they know whether to use the example.com,www.example.com, www.example.com/index, etc.
Rewrite Titles: Rewrite the title of the page and link to match the best version of the title for the long tail url.
Post,Page, and Category Title Format: This is the format for the title for each post, page, and category. (Example: this post’s title is All In One SEO Pack). Leave these in the default settings.
Archive Title Format: If you archive their posts for later access, the archive title format combines the blog and date in the title.
Tag Title Format: What are the tags or keywords for each post.

Paged Format: This is for your page formats and should not be touched.
SEO for Custom Post Types: For those using WordPress 3.0 and higher, you have the ability to create different post types. If you use this feature then this plugin is useful. If not, mark this unchecked.

Google Analytics ID: This allows Google Analytics to be more compatible with your search by providing better data.
Use Categories for META keywords: Most users should avoid this, because otherwise you will have too many categories.
Use Tags for META keywords: Have the tags for your post automatically turned into keywords for Google.
Dynamically Generate Keywords for Posts Page: Are you unsure of which keywords are best for your post? Then check this
Use noindex for Categories, Archives, and Tag Archives: Only click this if you do not want your categories, archives, and tag archives found on Google. Not Recommended!
Autogenerate Descriptions: This is great for those who sometimes forget to insert a description. The plugin will choose a description specifically based on the post and keywords.
Capitalize Category Titles: This feature is self-explanatory.
Exclude Pages: Are there any pages you do not want indexed by search engines? This is great for product pages.
Additional Post, Page, Home, and Front Page Headers: There are 4 different boxes for this section. Use this to add additional headers to all of your posts and pages header. There are separate headers for the home and front page.
Log important events: This function should only be used for troubleshooting with the developer.
All In One SEO Pack Review
Woo! That was a heck of a list. As you can see this WordPress plugin packs quite the SEO punch! The good news is that most of the settings are ready when you download the plugin. However, you will have to play with the plugin somewhat as you decide the best methods for search for your site. The All In One SEO Pack is a great way to start increasing your search traffic.
Hi, Andy:
Thanks for the in depth review of All In One SEO. I have two quick questions for you. (even though I have been using this plugin for years now, I have only ever used it in a very pedestrian manner) So here are my questions.
1. So you recommend we use tags for META keywords instead of categories?
2. What are the additional headers option good for?
Let me know.
Kindly,
Missy
Missy,
Glad you enjoyed this post.
1. You should be using keywords and categories. Do not exclude one over the other.
2. If you have additional keywords or main points for a page this could be useful. I will be honest that I do not use that section often.
Andy
Hi, Andy:
Thanks for the response and I do indeed use both tags and categories on each post, but for the purposes of the All In One plugin will use tags instead. (as you have it pictured above)
Thanks.
p.s. I see that you accept guest posts and would like to submit one. Keep an eye out for my email please.
Missy,
Let me know how this works with your traffic. I saw your post and will take a look at using it tomorrow, but have not had a chance to review the post yet.
Andy
