Let me put my lawyer cap on for a moment and say that while this is a powerful idea, marketers (or small businesses) need to be aware that SMS text messaging is subject to state and federal anti-SPAM laws and, in Illinois at least, the law requires marketers to have consent before text messaging consumers’ cellular telephones.
